Deborah joined Raymond James in 2012 as Vice President, Human Resources leading the Human Resources function, with primary focus in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and training & development. She brings over 25 years of experience in financial services, ranging from local credit unions, to a national stock exchange, and a large global conglomerate. Deborah’s education is in psychology, economics and business holding the designations of Chartered Human Resources Professional (CHRP), Canadian Compensation Professional (CCP) and Global Remuneration Professional (GRP), and certified in the Myers-Brigg Type Indicator (MBTI).
Deborah is recognized as an innovative leader in organizational development and employee engagement. She has demonstrated leadership through team collaboration, having implemented award-winning sustainable solutions that shape the business for its’ future state. Her awards include the HRMA Award of Excellence, as well as the Chairman’s and Presidents Awards (HSBC).
She is holds the volunteer positions of President of the Board, Act 2 Child & Family Services; Ranger Leader, Lynn Valley District, Girl Guides of Canada; Associate of Canadian Pension Management (ACPM) Council Member; First Aid Ski Patrol with Grouse Mountain; and Duke of Edinburgh Group Leader.
Speaking engagements include “Credibility Cornerstones” at the Women in Leadership conference, “Unconscious Bias” at the National Branch Administrators Conference; and “Harassment, a Workplace Hazard” at CHRO Leadership Conference. Internally, the most recent leadership briefings have been on Workplace Culture, Inclusion Advocacy and Psychological Health & Safety.
