Chief Human Resources Officer, BC Hydro
Carolynn is an accomplished and versatile human resources leader with over 30 years’ experience in human resource, organizational, change and talent management disciplines including labour relations, recruitment, job evaluation, learning, compensation, employment equity, and human rights. Carolynn joined BC Hydro in November 2018 as the Chief Human Resources Officer. Before that she worked for 25 at WorkSafeBC where she held progressively more senior positions in Human Resources, with her final positions as Director of Labour Relations & Strategic Partnerships and Director, HR Operations – Worker and Employer Services.
Carolynn recently acted on the Board of Governors for the Law Society of BC in the role of Bencher, appointed by the provincial government. The Law Society Board governs lawyers in the province ensuring the public interest.
Carolynn has a Master of Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management and Labour Relations, from Queen’s University, a Human Resource Management Certificate, from British Columbia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts, Psychology, from University of British Columbia.
She lives in Vancouver, and in her spare time she can be found cheering on her son at Sir Charles Tupper basketball or rugby games. In the summer, she billets a Canadians’ Baseball player for the baseball season to give back to the local community.
