Managing Director and Human Resources Business Partner, BMO Financial Group

 

As Managing Director and HR Business Partner for BMO’s Canadian Personal & Business Bank, Natalie Scott is responsible for developing and implementing human resources strategies that support 15,000 of our employees and leaders across Canada. She leads a team of 30 HR professionals, supporting the strategic goals of BMO’s core businesses in Retail, Business Banking, Financial Planning and Specialized Sales.

Prior to this appointment, Natalie was the MD and HR Business Partner for the North American Customer Contact Centre and the Headquarters functions supporting our Canadian banking operations. During this two-year position, Natalie led the business’ organization simplification initiative, supporting balanced business growth with productivity and simplification goals, while activating a workplace culture that is a global leader in employee engagement.

Natalie joined BMO’s People & Culture Division in 1996, and has held key leadership roles in HR Consulting, Employee Relations, Workforce Strategies & Solutions, Compensation, Enterprise Performance Management, Acquisitions & Divestitures, as the Global Head of Benefits & Recognition, and most recently in Senior Business Partner Roles. Under her leadership, BMO launched a number of “firsts”, including its first social recognition platform, connecting colleagues around the globe and sharing stories of success and inspiration. In partnership with Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto, BMO was the founding corporate sponsor of the Working Carers Program, supporting and equipping employees who are balancing work and the care of family members with dementia.

Prior to joining BMO, Natalie began her career in Ottawa, leading communications and change management strategies at a niche Public Affairs firm.

Natalie received her BA in English from the University of Ottawa, and her Masters in Industrial Relations from Queen’s University. Together with her husband Mark and their two teenaged daughters, they live in Burlington, Ontario and are the usually proud owners and dog-walkers of a spirited standard poodle.
